Feeling empowered can mean many things: having meaningful opportunities, being heard, having choices and being able to shape the life you want to live.
But underpinning all of that is something even more fundamental: feeling safe.
That’s why we’re proud to announce a new 12-month partnership with Women’s Aid, supporting their work with women and children affected by domestic abuse across England.
The partnership forms part of the More Empowered pillar of our Infinite Purpose: our commitment to helping create a healthier, greener and more empowered world.

Why this partnership matters
Almost one in three women over the age of 16 in England and Wales will experience domestic abuse in their lifetime.
Behind that statistic are individual women whose lives, choices and safety can be deeply affected by abuse. And for many, reaching out for support can be an important step towards rebuilding independence and determining what comes next.
Women’s Aid has been working to support women and children experiencing domestic abuse for more than 50 years. Through its federation and specialist services, it helps survivors access support while also working to improve society’s response to domestic abuse.
As Farah Nazeer, Chief Executive of Women’s Aid, explains:
“I am delighted that Tropic Skincare has chosen Women’s Aid as their charitable partner this year and believe that the partnership will go a long way in helping us continue to support survivors. Domestic abuse is a horrific crime and there should be no space for it in our society. If we want to see a world in which women and children are finally safe, then we must come together and successful partnerships between charities and corporates have a pivotal role to play in this.”

Turning our More Empowered promise into action
We officially introduced the partnership at our annual Ambassador Glammies on 12th September, where we shared more about the causes our Tropic community is helping to support through Infinite Purpose.
Over the next 12 months, Tropic will support the expansion of the survivor services team at Women’s Aid to help survivors access practical and peer support.
The team deliver a range of projects including the Survivors’ Forum, Women’s Aid’s online peer-support community. It provides a safe space for women affected by domestic abuse to connect with others who understand their experiences, share support and feel less isolated.
Tropic's funding will also support delivery of Women’s Aid’s dedicated Professionals Service which provides specialist advice, information and resources to professionals supporting survivors of domestic abuse. By strengthening professionals' confidence, understanding of domestic abuse and ability to respond safely, the service helps ensure survivors receive trauma-informed, effective support.
The team also run the No Woman Turned Away initiative which supports women who can face some of the greatest barriers to finding refuge. This includes women without access to public funds, those who may not have the documentation they need, and women facing additional challenges such as language barriers or finding refuge accommodation that can take them and their children.
Our support will help more women navigate those barriers and access the specialist support they need.
All of these initiatives reflect an important part of what empowerment means to us – helping ensure people have access to the safety, support, information and choices they need to make decisions for themselves.
Susie Ma, Tropic Founder and CEO, said:
“We’re incredibly proud to be partnering with Women’s Aid and to play our part in supporting the vital work they do for women and children experiencing domestic abuse. No one should have to live in fear, and if this partnership helps even one person feel less alone, know that support is available or take a step towards safety, that matters enormously to us.”
Part of our Infinite Purpose
Our Infinite Purpose is about looking at the role our business can play in helping create a healthier, greener and more empowered world.
Through our partnerships, we work with organisations that bring the specialist knowledge, experience and understanding needed to create meaningful, lasting support. Women’s Aid brings more than five decades of expertise alongside the voices and experiences of survivors themselves.
We’re proud to support that work, and grateful to our Tropic community, whose continued support helps make partnerships like this possible.
Because a more empowered world starts with people having the freedom and support to shape their own lives.
If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic abuse, Women’s Aid is there to help. Visit Women’s Aid to find information, access support and search for specialist services in your area.
